Karang nini Legend

Once upon a time, there was a village named Emplak or Karangtunjang. There, lived a couple of grandparent (aki {grandpa} and nini {grandma} in sundanese). The Grandma is Ambu Kolor and The Grandpa is Arga Piara. They were living in an eternal love bond. Aki loved fishing so much. Some day, Aki is going fishing on the sea and not ever came home. meanwhile, Nini was woried and waiting aki to come home

The day was passed by but Aki not coming home yet. Nini was impatient by her worries anbout Aki. So, Nini decided to wait Aki in the shore. But unfortunatelly, Aki was never came home

In the shore, Nini was shouting Aki's name desperately but her voice was vanished by wave thundering. Their neighbours who were helping Nini searching Aki, were tired and going home. Nini was left alone in the shore.

With her divine power, Nini was begging to the Queen of south sea, Nyi Roro Kidul, as the Queen could make her met Aki again.

Her wishes is granted. Then, Appeared a floating reef, which is Aki's body tarnsformation. (Now, that reef is called Bale Kambang. If you stand on this reef you'll fell like floating)

As her allegiance and love, Nini was never leaving the reef, and she is praying to the lord for she could always be next to Aki. Her prayer was granted, then, Nini's Body was changed to be a reef which is facing the Bale Kambang Reef. Then people named that reef Karang Nini.

Centuries was passing , the two corals which is facing each other, stand still firmly. And the two corals are being symbol of love and loyalty . Unfortunately, at 1918, the reef part, (nini's head part) is broken off by a thunder strike, and abration make the reef more smaller than ever.
